Francisca Nengi (not real name), a civil servant based in Abuja, has accused Aero Contractors, an airline company, of sitting on her application for a refund for over a month.

The civil servant told FIJ this was the airline company’s second attempt at frustrating her.

She said she booked a Yola-to-Abuja flight for N53,510 with Aero Contractors for February 14 after a work trip but could not fly with the airline because the flight was cancelled.

“Aero cancelled the flight a day before takeoff,” Nengi told FIJ. “I tried reaching the airline on the number they used in contacting me, but it didn’t connect.”

She said that immediately after she found her way to Abuja, she lodged a complaint at the Aero Contractors’ complaint desk on February 16.

The officials asked her to fill out a refund form, which she did and submitted via an email provided for refunds by the company’s workers.

“Ever since I submitted my request for a refund, I haven’t received a response. I have also tried to reach out to them, but they have not replied,” she said.

She said she made another request for a refund on March 7 as directed by the company but no one responded to her.

FIJ contacted Aero Contractors for comments via email, but the company has not responded over 72 hours after.
