Saiki Muktar, a resident of Abuja, has accused Arik Air of holding on to his N370,000 a month after he asked the company to refund him.
The Abuja resident told FIJ he requested for a refund after the airline company rescheduled his flight for an earlier time.
He said that he booked a Lagos-to-Abuja return ticket on February 24 for his family but had to look for an alternative when the company disappointed him.
“On the eve of the trip, Arik Air cancelled the flight. The company changed the take-off time, and it could not work with my timing. So, I had to postpone what I wanted to do,” Muktar told FIJ.

“I went back with my teller to the company to request my refund, but they said they would send me a mail and that I would wait till I got it,” he said.
“I made frantic efforts to get my money for my rescheduled trip, but they have not refunded me.”

When FIJ contacted Adebanji Ola, Arik Air’s communications manager, he assured this reporter the company would credit Muktar within two days.
“I have investigated this and learned the customer submitted his application for a refund on March 8, 2023. The application is going through the normal procedure and is now in the final stage. His account should be credited in a day or two,” he said.
