Twitter, an American microblogging platform, has removed the verification tag from the account belonging to Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s former vice president.
FIJ observed the removal on Monday morning, shortly after Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, the new president and vice president, were sworn in.
At the time of reporting, FIJ noted the absence of the tag on Osinbajo’s account, while the account belonging to Muhammadu Buhari, the immediate former president, retained its verification status.
Also, at press time, the accounts of Tinubu and Shettima were yet to be conferred the special verification tag intended to denote the authenticity and official status of government representatives.
