Aero Contractors has refunded N93,206 to Mary Thompson, who could not travel with the airline after buying its flight ticket 21 months ago.
The refund came exactly one month after FIJ reported how the airline continued to hold on to the Abuja-based civil servant’s N114,544 for no clear reason.
“I eventually received a refund of N93,206 from Aero Contractors on August 23,” a delighted Thompson told FIJ on Friday.
“Thank you so much for your help, FIJ.”

In December 2021, Thompson had booked an Abuja–Port Harcourt return ticket with Aero Contractors so she could attend an event. The event was later postponed until August 2022, and this made Thompson request that her flight ticket be left open until when she would be able to make use of it again.
In August 2022, however, Aero Contractors had been placed on temporary suspension and Thompson was unable to make use of the ticket.

In the end, she was forced to make her trip to Port Harcourt with another airline.
On her return to Abuja, she sent a mail to Aero Contractors demanding a refund in December 2022 but the airline did not treat her request in a timely fashion. Thompson eventually reached out to FIJ for support in July.
