Max Air has refunded N60,000 to Nanman Kuyap, the Abuja resident whose ticket fee was withheld after a cancelled flight in July.

Kuyap got his money back one month after FIJ reported Max Air’s failure to refund him despite all his attempts to recover it.

“Just to confirm to you that I have received my refund from Max Air today. Thanks for your story that made them to act. I really appreciate what your organisation is doing to make organisations more responsible to their customers. Keep doing what you have been doing to help plenty Nigerians that have no voice,” Kuyap told FIJ on Monday.

As earlier reported by FIJ, Kuyap had booked an Abuja-Birnin Kebbi flight scheduled for July 2. Max Air sent him an email on July 1 to notify him that his flight fixed for the following day had been cancelled due to operational reasons.

He got the email less than 20 hours before he was supposed to leave for Kebbi.

Despite sending several emails and text messages and even visiting the Abuja office of Max Air, all of his attempts to recover his N60,000 were futile.

After Kuyap narrated his ordeal regarding the withheld ticket fee, FIJ published a story on the incident on September 28, and Max Air eventually resolved the issue on October 30.
