Nanman Kuyap, an Abuja resident, has narrated how Max Air withheld his N60,000 after cancelling his flight three months ago.
Kuyap told FIJ that the incident happened between June and July.
“On June 26, I booked an Abuja to Birnin Kebbi flight with Max Air and the flight was scheduled to depart Abuja at exactly 6:15 pm on July 2,” Kuyap said.
“However, Max Air cancelled the flight on the eve of the departure date.
“On July 1, I received an email from the airline at exactly 9:20 pm informing me that the flight had been cancelled due to operational reasons. This was less than 20 hours to when I was supposed to leave Abuja for Kebbi.”

In the email, Max Air also gave Kuyap the options of either rescheduling his flight to a future date or request a refund.
“I chose the second option but Max Air has refused to refund the money since July,” Kuyap said.
“This is getting close to three months and I have not heard from the airline.
“I have sent Max Air several mails and text messages asking for a refund but the airline has continued to ignore my messages. I have also visited their stand at the airport but all my efforts have not yielded any positive outcome.
“I last visited their stand on August 29 and they told me they were working on it.
“Prior to that last visit, I had filled a form on their stand twice on July 8 and on August 12. It has been three months since Max Air cancelled the flight. This is unfair.”
FIJ sent WhatsApp and email messages to Max Air for comments on the matter on Wednesday, but they had not been responded to at press time.
