Adachukwu Chukelu-Okafor, the Anambra-based lawyer who went into hiding after allegedly molesting a 10-year old girl, Happiness, her housekeeper, has turned herself in for arrest.

This was revealed to FIJ by Calvin, a neighbour of Ifeoma Moghalu, Happiness’ guardian. According to Calvin, the Anambra-based lawyer turned herself in for arrest last week.

FIJ recently reported how Adachukwu subjected 10-year-old Happiness to physical abuse and molestation by inserting a hot knife in her private part as punishment, burning her buttocks with a hot pressing iron, tying her up and starving her of food.

FIJ learned that the self-confessed “lover of God” did all of these things to Happiness as punishment for an offence.

FIJ also reported that the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, promised a N2 million bounty to anybody with information that could lead to Adachukwu’s arrest by the police after she went into hiding.

”She turned herself in last week. She also appeared at the hospital and the police took over,” said Calvin.

FIJ also contacted Happiness’ guardian, Ifeoma Moghalu, who confirmed that Adachukwu turned herself in.

”I received a call from the police telling me Adachukwu was in their custody,” Ifeoma told FIJ.

Ikenganyia Anthony, the police public relations officer for Anambra State, also confirmed this. ”Adachukwu was not arrested. She surrendered herself to the police,” he told FIJ in a telephone call.
