“During periods like this, my brother would have arrived at our family home in Eruwa with his wife and kids,” Olugbade told FIJ.

“On Christmas day, the ladies in our family, and a few women from around our community, would have woken up as early as possible to start cooking all sorts of food in large quantities for the celebration.

“The men in the family would have started playing all sorts of music while making all sorts of arrangements to receive guests. His friends from all over our hometown would have joined us in the merriment.”

Another family member, who asked not to be named, told FIJ that with the said incident still very much fresh in the minds of family members, no one was inspired to partake in the festivities.

“This season always provided an opportunity for us to come together, wine and dine, have meetings on matters and bond as a family.

“However, Timothy’s painful exit is still being very much felt within the family and this Christmas has been made a very bitter one for us. His demise has left a gaping hole in our hearts. We can only continue to hope to get justice in the end.
