Disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives who have failed to appear before the FCT Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS-Related Abuses have been issued an arrest warrant, FIJ can report.
According to the panel, the police officers continue to abscond from answering questions bothering on the allegations of human rights violations.

Announcing the development on Twitter this morning, a non-governmental organisation, YIAGA noted that: “The FCT @NhrcNigeria Judicial Panel has issued arrest warrants on @PoliceNG officers who have consistently failed to appear at the panel to answer allegations of human rights violation against them”.
Meanwhile, the panel, presided over by the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria, has received 285 petitions as of today.
When contacted for comments, a staff of the commission who simply identified herself as Joy promised to get back to FIJ, but has not as of the time of publication.
