Some prospective corps members (PCMs) earlier denied registration by officials of Katsina State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been cleared and fully registered.

This came after FIJ reported that about 16 graduates of education from Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Kwara State University (KWASU) and the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) were denied registration at Katsina camp over course specialisation.

Nine of them are from IBBU, five from KWASU and two from UNIABUJA.

When contacted on Saturday, Ahidjo Yahaya, the Kastina State NYSC coordinator, assured FIJ that the affected PCMs would be registered.

Shortly afterwards, FIJ learned that the officials had started attending to the prospective corps members.

On Sunday, Isah Tijani Yelwa, one of the affected PCMs, said the officials had cleared six out affected nine graduates from IBBU.

“They said our results have been verified,” he said. “The remaining people still await verification. But they assured us we are all going to be registered.”

Yelwa was pained that members of the public accused them of presenting fake results to NYSC officials.

“This was not our fault, but the officials chose to handle our case the way they deemed fit,” said Yelwa.

Also, PCMs from KWASU and UNIABUJA told FIJ there were signs that they would be attended to soon.
