John Greg, a Lagos-based Lebanese man, has been arrested by the police after hitting a lady with his vehicle while driving against traffic in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Omotomi Akinsanya, the victim, was walking along Sanusi Fafunwa Street in Victoria Island when Greg’s Toyota 4Runner hit her on Wednesday.

Greg immediately fled the scene, leaving Omotomi with serious injuries to her legs.

“The impact was so much that the plate number fell off. The driver did a hit and run, he absconded instead of waiting to care. A passer bye took a bike and chased after him,” wrote Wellzpapi, a Twitter user, on Wednesday.

“He was caught, brought back and handed over to the police. Omotomi is in critical condition at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. We seek justice for Omotomi and this white man should not be released.”
