Green Africa Air has refunded N33,500 to Ogechi Ejiogu, an Owerri-based hairstylist whose money had been withheld since April.

This came five days after FIJ reported that the airline refused to refund the hairstylist despite assuring her they would three months earlier.

“They refunded me today. I did not expect it. I am grateful that FIJ stepped in. They paid me in full,” Ejiogu said.

Ejiogu earlier said that the airline company scheduled her flight from Owerri to Abuja and back for April 26 but cancelled the flight before the date after several postponements.

She stated that she had to use another airline to travel to Abuja while the airline company held on to her money. On her return, she asked for her money, but the company asked her to wait for 20 working days.

She waited, but the company refused to pay her until today.

“Thank you very much,” excited Ejiogu said. “I appreciate FIJ’s intervention in the matter.”
