The police in Ekiti State have arrested Charles Nwankwor, an Ado-Ekiti-based women’s wig trader, for assaulting Adeniran Adeola, a trader, over a shop space altercation on July 15.

The police made the arrest yesterday, two weeks after telling FIJ a manhunt had been launched for him.

FIJ had reported how Nwankwor assaulted Adeniran for asking him to stop trading in front of her shop and obstructing her customers.

Adeniran told FIJ that trading in front of someone else’s shop without permission in the area was against an order by the king of Ado-Ekiti.

She said rather than listen to her, Nwakwor beat her up and slapped her numerous times until blood gushed out of her mouth.

“The assaulter has been arrested and was arraigned yesterday. This is the first step to getting justice for Madam Adeniran. We are ready to follow up with the prosecution team on this matter,” Olaonipekun said.

“We want justice to be served as speedily as possible.”
