The United States Mission to Nigeria has notified visa applicants of the spread of fake advertisements in the application of visa lottery to the United States.

In a tweet on Friday afternoon, the mission sait it had been made aware of “websites and messages advertising the U.S. visa lottery”, but all of them are ‘fake’.

It however stated that all information required regarding the lottery can be found on its official websites: ng.usembassy.gov and http://travel.state.gov.

“Addresses that have a .gov are the only accurate source of visa information,” the mission said.
