Wallets Africa, a cross-border payment platform, has made a second refund of N18,755 to Somtochukwu Njoku, a Lagos-based technology expert.

The company made the refund earlier in the week after FIJ reported how it debited Njoku twice and failed to fund his dollar account.

Njoku, on Tuesday, told FIJ that he checked to see if the company had made a refund and noticed he had been credited.

He said, “I nonchalantly decided to follow up on Wallets Africa, and to my greatest surprise, that last reversal has come in, albeit silently and without notice.

“I am so grateful to you and the team at FIJ Nigeria, and for your due diligence in helping resolve this issue. God bless you.”

This comes after FIJ’s August 20 report on the matter. According to the report, Njoku intended to pay for a foreign service but needed to convert his naira to dollars.

He sent N18,755 to his Wallets Africa account and then attempted to make payment. The payment failed, and he made another attempt.

In total, he was debited N37,510 on July 27. After FIJ’s story, the company made a refund of the first sum, and has now made the second refund.
