Nifemi Temitayo Adeosun, a 30-year-old independent researcher, is being advertised on dating apps Olosho and In-message‘, but she doesn’t know a thing about it.

Between Sunday evening and Monday afternoon, Adeosun received more than 10 calls from unknown users of the apps soliciting sex from her.

“I am tired of these calls,” she told FIJ of the intrusion into her privacy by potential lovers. “I am not on any of these apps but it is even shocking that the impersonator got all personal details correctly, including my mobile numbers and locations.”

Parody account created for Nifemi Adeosun on In-message.
Premium user on Olosho chatted Nifemi Adeosun on Whatsapp

On the In-message app specifically, the impersonator wrote that Adeosun was “desperately in need of males and lesbians” as she would like to “explore and forget about my ex-lover”.

Although Adeosun would like to be silent about her relationship status, she said the impersonator on In-message was wrong about her sexual orientation.

FIJ also observed that there are just a few details about Adeosun on the Olosho app. Only premium subscribers can access her personal phone number for potential hook-up.

Friends have tried to report the parody accounts on behalf of Adeosun, but all their efforts are yet to result in the suspension of the accounts.

When Adeosun called the Administrator of the Olosho app, she was advised to download the app herself in order to lodge an official complaint, despite informing the Administrator she had already being impersonated with the same details she could possibly use.

FIJ also tried to reach out to the Administrators of the two accounts through phone calls but the calls were not answered and the direct messages on the apps were not replied to as well.
