Danielle Ukaogo, a Lagos-based customer support associate, has narrated how Wigsbyrosy, an Instagram wig vendor, refused to deliver a wig she ordered after making full payment.

Ukaogo said the vendor blocked her after she persistently asked her why it was taking so long to deliver her order.

She told FIJ she paid Wigsbyrosy N42,000 on November 20 for the wig and was assured the product would be delivered to her in four days. But to date, she has not received the product.

Ukaogo said she called Wigsbyrosy to know why she had not received the wig a day after the expected day of delivery but the vendor said she would soon get it.

“Some days later, I messaged Wigsbyrosy on Instagram to inform her that no one had called me regarding the delivery of the wig, but I got no response,” Ukaogo told FIJ.

Ukaogo said she found it odd that she got no reply minutes after she messaged the vendor because she would reply within three to ten minutes.

According to Ukaogo, this was when she realised the vendor had fleeced her.

“The vendor did not block me until I started sending people to them. A couple of my friends chatted with her, and she responded immediately, while ignoring me,” she said.

“I started pleading with them to give me my wig. I called her on Instagram but got no response. Even worse is that I have no phone number of hers.”

Later, Ukaogo realised she could not find the vendor’s handle whenever she searched for ‘Wigsbyrosy’ on her account. Meanwhile, when she searched with another account, Wigsbyrosy popped up.

“I reached out to my bank and the Eyowo team to find out if they could flag the transaction, but I discovered the recipient had transferred the money to another account,” she said.

““Before I patronised Wigsbyrosy, I engaged them a couple of days to gauge their response. They seemed friendly. But after I made payments, she blocked me.”

When FIJ contacted Wigsbyrosy on Instagram, she asked this reporter to send the source’s name to her, which he did. Twenty-four hours later, she has failed to say a word concerning the situation.
