Bolaji Atunse, proprietor of Bras Polytechnic, a private tertiary institution in Igbaja, Kwara State, has been arrested alongside three staff of the institution over the issuance of fake statements of result to graduates.
A source revealed that the police arrested members of Bras’ management in Ilorin on Thursday and took them to Adamawa where they would be arraigned next week.
On Saturday, FIJ reported the continued detention of Ayomilekan Dada, a recent graduate of Bras Polytechnic, who unknowingly submitted fake documents at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp in Adamawa State and was arrested.
Although Dada was not the only Bras graduate arrested on September 5, his four other colleagues apprehended from different NYSC camps were released and sent away from the camps.

Sulaiman Nguroje, the spokesman of Adamawa State Police Command, told FIJ that the police had reached out to the management of Plateau Polytechnic, the institution which name appeared on the statement of results obtained from Dada, but they denied complicity.
“I will have to find out if there are updates from the investigators probing the case. All I know is that Dada will be charged to court.”
Before Atunse’s arrest, he had tried to silence an FIJ reporter working on the story with a bribe. “I need a good name, but if you publish any report on a certificate scandal, it will bring down my name,” he had said. “Please, don’t publish the report. Just ignore it and I will compensate you.”
He had also promised to send a lawyer to secure Dada’s release from detention, but he never did.
