30.12.2022 Featured After FIJ’s Story, Zenith Bank Returns Lagos Resident’s Debited Funds

Zenith Bank has returned N14,776 to Elizabeth Muhammed, a Lagos State resident, whose money was deducted without her consent.

She had woken up to the debit alert and then learned that her debit card was used to make an online purchase.

FIJ published a story on the incident on December 12, after Muhammed narrated how she never initiated the transaction that led to the deduction.

She also said she lodged a complaint but the bank’s attitude to the incident had been discouraging.

However, she received a reversal alert from Zenith Bank on the evening of Thursday.

While expressing her gratitude to FIJ, she said, “I want to use the medium to say a very big thank you for breaking the story, as they told me that they saw the news on social media.”
