Courtney Clenney, an American Instagram model, has been accused of fatally stabbing Christian Obumseli, her Nigerian boyfriend, to death during an argument in Miami, United States of America.
According to the Miami Herald, Clenney claimed she had merely thrown a knife at Obumseli at a distance of over 10 feet during an altercation they both had inside their luxurious Miami apartment.
However, investigations carried out by the police showed that the chest wound the Nigerian suffered was too deep to have been caused by a blade hurled from across the room.

The investigators said the stabbing was “up close and personal”. The wound, as suggested by the piercing, was “slightly downward,” penetrating Obumseli’s chest by eight centimetres.
The medical evidence that was presented, together with Clenney’s history of attacking Obumseli with weapons during their rocky relationship, left prosecutors with no option but to charge her with murder.
The 26-year-old model was also depicted as the relationship’s unhinged aggressor, as the prosecuting team played a video of her repeatedly attacking the Nigerian in an elevator two months before the killing.
“The violent and toxic two-year relationship of Christian Obumseli and Courtney Clenney did not have to end in tragedy with Christian’s murder as a victim of domestic violence,” said Katherine Fernandez, a state attorney.

Clenny’s arrest warrant was unsealed on Thursday, one day after U.S. marshals arrested her in Hawaii, where she had been enrolled in a substance abuse rehabilitation program.
Clenney and Obumseli had moved into their three-bedroom luxury apartment in January, with neighbours constantly complaining about their noise.
“There was a history of her always being aggressive and violent,” said Larry Handfield, a Miami lawyer representing Obumseli’s family.
