An unknown number of people, including students, have been abducted in an attack by gunmen at Greenfield University located at Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack reportedly occurred on Tuesday night.
An official of the University, Simon Nwakacha, when contacted by FIJ, neither confirmed nor denied that the university was attacked and students kidnapped. He directed the FIJ to contact Samuel Aruwan, commissioner for Internal Security in Kaduna State.
“I have no statement to issue now,” Nwakacha said.” No comment for now. All comments should be directed to Mr Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Agency.”
Asked when he would confirm the report, Nwakacha said that “days to come, because things are still dicey”.
Aruwan confirmed reports of the attack, but promised to issue a statement after receiving feedback from security agencies, according to The Cable.
This is coming weeks after 39 students were abducted when bandits attacked Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Igabi LGA.
