The Westminster Magistrate’s Court in the United Kingdom has again denied bail to Ike Ekweremadu, a former Deputy President of the Senate, and Beatrice, his wife.

The court, on Thursday, ruled that David Ukpo, a male brought into the country by the couple for the purpose of organ donation to their daughter, was a 21-year-old and not a 15-year-old minor.

The Ekweremadus pleaded not guilty to charges of human trafficking and organ harvesting, a violation of the country’s Modern Slavery Act, ChannelsTV reported.

The court rejected a bail application by the defence counsel, and adjourned the case until August 4, 2022.
