04.03.2022 Featured First Batch of Nigerian Evacuees From Ukraine Arrive in Abuja Via Romania

The first batch of Nigerians evacuated from Ukraine have arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, via Max Air.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), confirmed this in a tweet on Friday.

According to Dabiri-Erewa, the Nigerians arrived in the country from Bucharest, Romania.

“First batch of Nigerians from Ukraine arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja from Romania at 7:10 am,” she wrote.

The development comes two days after President Muhammadu Buhari approved $8.5 million for the immediate evacuation of 5,000 Nigerians stranded in Ukraine.
