26.02.2022 news ‘I Need Ammunition, Not a Ride’ — Ukraine President Rejects US Offer to Leave Kyiv

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian President, has rejected an offer from the United States to leave Kyiv.

The Ukraine Embassy in Britain announced this in a Twitter post on Saturday.

“The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride. Ukrainians are proud of their President,” the tweet reads.

In a video broadcast Saturday morning on Twitter, Zelenskyy said, “We are not putting down arms”.

Ned Price, a spokeswoman for the US Department of State, said Thursday night that Zelenskyy was still a “prime target” for Russian aggression. This is according to CNN.

Zelenskyy had stated on Thursday that Russia marked him as its number one enemy and that his family was the number two target.

“They want to destroy Ukraine by destroying the head of state. We have information that enemy sabotage groups have entered Kyiv,” he said.
