Adedeji Olayemi Bamidele, a Lagos State resident, has accused Investa Nigeria, a digital cooperative platform, of denying him a Return on Investment (ROI) payment of N400,000.

Bamidele told FIJ that he invested N2 million with the organisation in 2021 and was promised a 20 per cent ROI after 12 months.

“When my investment matured on September 27, 2022, Investa Nigeria did not credit me with the N2.4 million capital and interest payment I was expecting. I was only paid my N2 million capital instead,” Bamidele said.

“Before I eventually got the N2 million itself, I had to ‘disturb’ the company on Twitter several times till October. I was surprised they did not include the RoI. I was supposed to receive it together with the capital.

“When I asked for my RoI, they said they were working on it and that their inability to pay on time was as a result of the issues they have with their partners.

“Since then, I have been chatting and sending reminders to them on Twitter to know why they have not paid and when they will pay, but they have not really responded well.”

FIJ made several phone calls to Investa for comments on the matter, but the company’s official telephone lines were switched off. The text message and email sent to the company had also not been responded to at press time.
