Aishatu Dahiru Binani, a governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged as the winner of the Adamawa State gubernatorial election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared her the winner on Sunday morning.

Barrister Hudu Yunusa, the resident electoral commissioner for the state, announced this following the supplementary election held on Saturday.
In the initial March 18 governorship election, Binani was closely behind Ahmed Finitri, the incumbent governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

INEC, however, declared the election inconclusive due to reports of irregularities in the results. A supplementary election was thereafter scheduled for April 15.
