Nnamdi Chude, the Labour Party supporter who was imprisoned on allegations of cyberstalking, has been released.

Chude was released on Friday after spending six days in custody.

FIJ had reported how Chude was arrested on March 18 by the Anambra State cybersecurity police unit and covertly transferred to the Force Headquarters the following day.

Following a widespread demand for his whereabouts and offense, the police revealed in a press statement on Wednesday that a petition had been filed against Chude for violating Section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015 and other criminal laws, and that he was being investigated by the Force National Cyber Crime Centre (NCCC). 

They further stated that a prima facie case had been filed against him and he had been transferred to the Force Legal Department for further investigation.
