14.04.2024 Featured Lagos BRT, 5 Other Vehicles Involved in Road Crash

A Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle and five other vehicles have been involved in a road crash in the Alapere area of Lagos State.

Vehicular traffic built up on the Ogudu axis of the Lagos-Ibadan highway on Sunday, following the crash.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has also written about the crash via its X handle.

“A multiple auto crash involving six vehicles, including a BRT bus, has occured at NNPC, inwards Estate Alapere on Lagos-Ibadan Express. Resultant backlog of traffic is now at Ogudu,” LASTMA wrote.

“However, our officers are present there working to ease movement for other motorists and earnest effort has commenced to clear the scene.”

Meanwhile, a cargo container landed on a speeding car, marked ABJ 692 BG, in the same area on Saturday, killing a woman instantly while the driver of the car was unhurt.

The truck carrying the 40-feet container reportedly had a break failure, leading to the accident. The driver and his assistant fled the spot immediately.
