Warri youths have taken to major roads of Delta State to protest against the arrest activities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), with some ladies asking the agency to “leave our boyfriends alone”.
As early as 8 am on Tuesday, the placard-carrying protesters stormed the Effurun roundabout, agitating that the EFCC be scrapped.
Some of the protesters claimed that the EFCC was egregiously “demanding as much as N2million each from any of the youths captured”.

Some of the accusations of the protesters were that the EFCC was illegally entering Ughelli charging the youths with fraudulent activities without proper investigation of what they were doing.
The #EndEFCC protesters said the EFCC should probe the Federal Government to account for the frequent money-laundering and corruption charges, and leave them with their own dealings.
“Money wey dey say climb bush make dem go bring am come; the one wey dey say snake swallow, make dem go bring am; de one wey dem say monkey carry make dem go bring am; make dem leave us alone,” one protester said.
“We say no. No road. We no be thief. EFCC make una hold government, no be us. No be us,” another protester said.
Female protesters however said the EFCC officials should leave their ‘Yahoo’ boyfriends alone.
“No be every successful youth dey do fraud; u na dey mad; e no go beta for una,” said one protester.
“Make una leave our boyfriends for us o. Na d same Yahoo we dey take dey chop. My birthday is coming,” another protester kicked.
This is coming after the EFCC had arrested two siblings — Lateef Afeez Abiodun and Lateef Abdullahi Olalekan — alongside 24 other suspected internet fraudsters in Ibadan, Oyo State.
