The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 77.47% of the governorship election results for Rivers State to its Result-Viewing Portal, an open-source platform for the display of votes obtained directly from polling units.
On March 18, the commission supervised gubernatorial and house of assembly elections. Only 28 states participated in the elections to elect new governors.

Rivers State is divided into 23 local government areas, with 6,866 polling units altogether. Out of these results, 5,348 were available on the website when FIJ checked on Sunday.
FIJ also observed that only three local government areas had their results fully uploaded to the platform.
The local councils concerned are Adoni with 265 polling units, Abual/Odual with 214 polling units and Opobo/Nekoro, which has 154 polling units.
Four major political parties had candidates in the contest. Dumo Lulu-Briggs represented the Accord Party, Tonye Cole Patrick represented the All Progressives Congress, Beatrice Itubo represented the Labour Party, while Siminialayi Fubara represented the Peoples Democratic Party.
