The Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists destroyed a 330KVA high-tension transmission line along the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway on Thursday morning.

This came exactly one week after suspected ISWAP terrorists vandalised two transmission towers around Katsaita village on December 21, consequently causing power failure in some parts of Borno and Yobe states.

Zagazola Makama, a security analyst in the Lake Chad region, provided details of the recent incident on Thursday.

“The Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists have destroyed another 330KVA high-tension transmission line along Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway,” Makama wrote on X.

“The incident occurred in the early hours of December 28, 2023, at about 0700hours  between Yanayakiri-Garin Kuturu in the Jakana general area.”

Also, according to Makama, the terrorists planted an explosive around the vicinity, which killed an NSCDC officer.
