When Adesubomi Adegbite, a lawyer living in Ibadan, bought three flight tickets from Overland Airways on March 1, she thought her experience with the company would be smooth. But 18 days later, neither she nor her companions have boarded yet, and the airline company will not refund her.
Adegbite told FIJ she booked Abuja-Ibadan tickets for herself and two others for N350,000 and was to depart for her destination on March 9 but did not fly with Overland Airways.
She said the airline company, in a text message, cancelled the flight two days before the date of departure due to operational reasons.

“Immediately after they cancelled the flight, I applied for a refund of N350,000. The airline keeps assuring me that they are working on it, but I doubt that, judging from the series of news articles on the internet about the airline’s unwillingness to pay aggrieved customers,” Adegbite told FIJ.
FIJ emailed Overland Airways for comments on the matter, but they had not responded at press time.
