The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has dismissed Kareem Fatai and Jimoh Abdul-Lukman, two special police constabularies who demanded money from a Dutch tourist in Oyo State.
The two officers were dismissed by Adebola Hazmat, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, on Thursday afternoon.
Hamzat stated that their dismissal was necessary to deter other police officers from the same act.

“I affirm the recommended punishment of dismissal for the two police special constabularies, Kareem Fatai and Jimoh Abdul-Lukman,” he said.
“I hereby pronounce both of them dismissed from the police special constabulary. They will cease to be members of the special constabulary with immediate effect.
“It is hoped that this will serve as a deterrent to others who might want to perform a similar act.”
On December 7, a video went viral of both police constabularies demanding money from an unidentified tourist from the Netherlands.
In the short video, the officers first ask to know the tourist’s nationality before proceeding to demand money from her.
