A yet unidentified policewoman has died following he eruption of violence at a voting venue in Omuo-Oke, Ekiti East Constituency, on Saturday.

The election, which was meant to fill a seat that became vacant in the state house of assembly following the death of Hon. Oluwajuwon Adegbuyi, the member representing Ekiti East Constutuency, turned violent after political thugs stormed an election venue in Omuo-Oke.

Armed with guns and machetes, the thugs killed a policewoman and left left several workers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) injured.

According to a source who spoke with FIJ, no political party has accepted responsibility for the attack, as the two frontline parties (APC and PDP) shift the blame.

While election was said to have stalled in the town as INEC officials fled, voting continued in other parts of the State.
