Seyi Tinubu, President Bola Tinubu’s son, and his friends on Sunday flew to Kano in a presidential jet to attend the finals of this year’s edition of the Kano International Polo Tournament.
According to Premium Times, witnesses reported that the presidential jet carrying Seyi Tinubu and his friends landed in Kano on Sunday and was met by officials from the presidency, the Kano State government, and the Kano Polo Club.
Tight security, provided by the Nigeria Police Force and the State Security Service, accompanied him to the Usman Dantata Polo Ground. After the tournament, the presidential jet transported Seyi Tinubu and his group back to Abuja, where he resides.

Known for his passion for polo, Seyi Tinubu is serving as the patron of the STL Polo Team in Lagos. His use of a presidential plane for a personal event, however, sparked criticism from some Nigerians, who questioned the ethical standards of such actions by public officials.
Seyi is not the first member of a president’s immediate family to abuse public office. Recently, in 2020, President Muhammadu Buhari’s youngest daughter, Hanan, flew in a presidential jet for a private trip to Bauchi.
