In a town hall meeting with private sector stakeholders on Thursday, the vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima, was shamed as stakeholders walked away.
This was after the party’s Imo campaign rally in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, on Wednesday.

In a video obtained by FIJ, the moderator could be heard pleading with some of the partners, particularly the guests.
“Please, can we be seated? One house, please. Our PIB guests in the front here. Please, we are still on live television. We are still on live TV, please,” he said.
While the state’s governor, Hope Uzodinma, said the stakeholders should sit as the meeting was not over, the moderator asked security men to man the gate properly.
Before now, Shettima was heard in a leaked audio describing the Igbo people as “useless and irrelevant” while conversing with a former Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun.
He claimed that the Igbo people had been the ones supplying Boko Haram with ammunition, and that they intentionally killed Major General Mohammed Shuwa in the civil war.
“Our prayer now is may God remove the influence of the southeast in our region. That is all we are praying for left and right now,” Shettima said.
“And I am telling you, after four years – at least we the north are liberal –but in the southeast, Kunle, after four years, Igbos can never be useful and relevant again in the southeast. Wait and see.”
