FIJ has obtained a video showing the interior of the Ekiti camp, where Ade Abraham, pastor of Christ High Commission Ministry, also known as Royal Christ Assembly, Kaduna State, has kept his congregants “while they await rapture”.

Obtained from a congregant, the video shows members casually occupying the living quarters. Some members were also seen cooking and engaging in casual conversations in the camp, located in Omuo-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

According to a member of the church who is currently in the camp with other followers, Abraham has threatened to orchestrate the arrest of a foreign-based church member if she does not return to Nigeria to join them at the camp.

Earlier, FIJ reported that Abraham charged each church member N310,000 to move from Kaduna to the camp, with the promise that they would experience rapture from there.

His church members have been at the camp with him since their arrival from Kaduna State on April 16.

When FIJ spoke with one of the congregants, she said she had forfeited school, and ‘was ready to go to heaven with Abraham’.

“We are not coming back. I can’t explain in details,” the member said.

“We are going to make rapture from here. We are going to a heavenly place.”

FIJ made attempts to reach the pastor for comments, but he did not respond to calls or reply text messages sent to him at press time.
