Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian President, has asked western leaders and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) for support in the ongoing war in his country.
In a statement credited to him by the Defence of Ukraine on Tuesday, Zelenskyy urges NATO to be proactive in the war by declaring a no-fly zone in their countries and supporting Ukraine with aircraft.
“What else do the occupiers have to do?” Zelenskyy asked. “How many more people do they have to kill for Western leaders, NATO leaders to respond positively to Ukraine’s request for a no-fly zone or to provide our country with the aircraft we so desperately need?”

According to the UN, over 902 civilians had died due to the war as of Sunday.
Russia began an all-out land, air, and sea invasion of Ukraine on February 24. This has continued despite sanctions from western leaders.
