Adisa Kamaldeen, a businessman and Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) customer, has completely received the N40,000 deducted from his account in June.

Kamaldeen told FIJ that he received N20,000 in his GTB account on Thursday, a few weeks after he was first credited N20,000.

“Thank you very much. I have received N20,000 of the second debit. With this reversal, it means the two dispense errors have now been resolved,” he said.

FIJ had reported how Kamaldeen used his Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) card in an Access Bank ATM on different occasions and was debited a total of N40,000 despite the ATM’s failure to dispense his money. Shortly after the story, Kamaldeen received N20,000.

Initially, GTB told Kamaldeen that they would contact Access Bank. Later, they told him Access Bank said there was no dispense error and advised that he request for CCTV footage.

However, weeks after FIJ’s story, the erroneous debits have been resolved.
