Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), is looking to recruit 1,000 prayer warriors who will help pray against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adeboye condemned the world for attempting to use science to combat the disease, saying everyone had sinned and needed to apologise to God to defeat the virus.

He said this during his church’s crossover service held from late Friday to the early hours of Saturday in Ogun State.

“Convulsion is still on in the world and the world has failed to apologise to God,” he said.

“What got me more concerned is that Omicron is not a baby of COVID-19; it is the grandchild of COVID-19. That is why it is moving faster, but softer.

“I need 1,000 volunteers, strong Christians, young and prayer warriors, to join me in seeking the face of God for Nigeria and for the world.”

The cleric asked that volunteers join him in a 72-hour fast; the first 24 hours to pray for Nigeria, the following 24 hours to pray for the world, and the final 24 hours to be dedicated to a prayer he would communicate later.

He, however, said he would pick volunteers on a first come, first served basis, and that prayers would commence in February.
