The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has given Adenike Okekporo, a postgraduate student resident in the United Kingdom, access to her N1.5 million.
Okekporo told FIJ on Tuesday that the bank sent the money into her preferred accounts on Monday.
“UBA has finally resolved the issue,” she said.

“I got my naira and pounds transferred to my chosen accounts. Thank you, FIJ.”
On March 21, FIJ reported how Okekporo was restricted from accessing her N1.5 million after UBA refunded it to her in July 2022.
Okekporo had narrated how she reached out to the bank via various channels without success.
“On July 23, N1.6 million was withdrawn from my account and after reporting the incident to the bank, a refund was made in two weeks,” Okekporo told FIJ.
“After the refund, I realised the account had been frozen and I had been restricted from accessing it.
“I wrote to UBA to request access to the account so I could move the money to a safer account, but they kept dribbling and ignoring me. They would acknowledge my emails but fail to resolve the request.

“All I want is that they send my login so I can move my money from their bank. I have had to subject myself to undue hardship because they won’t allow me to access my money.”
The postgraduate student eventually accessed her money two weeks after FIJ’s intervention.
