Courtney Clenney, the American Instagram model who was arrested on August 10 for allegedly killing Christian Obumseli, her Nigerian boyfriend, has been denied bail in her first court appearance in Miami-Dade county, United States of America.
According to Daily Mail UK, Clenney, who was charged with second degree murder, previously demanded through Frank Prietro, her attorney, that Obumseli’s corpse be dug up and inspected by a medical examiner to prove that she killed him in self-defence.

Contrary to her claims of throwing a knife at her boyfriend from more than 10 feet away during an altercation on April 3, an autopsy carried out on the deceased’s body revealed that the stabbing could only have been carried out at a close distance.
In court on Saturday, Prietro argued that Clenney should have been handed manslaughter charges and be offered bail.
In her reaction, Jacqueline Woodward, the presiding judge, said she was not familiar enough with the case to make a ruling and that a hasty decision could be unfair to the defendant.
However, the judge ruled that Clenney’s murder charges remained unchanged and that she be remanded in jail till she made another appearance on September 6.
