A high-ranking official from Image Me Corporate Service, a consulting firm, has accused Stephen Akintayo, CEO of GText Homes, of failing to honour a contractual agreement by refusing to pay the company a fee of N75 million despite persistent reminders.
The official, who asked not to be named, disclosed to FIJ that in July 2022, Image Me Corporate Service played a crucial role in assisting GText Homes in acquiring a substantial land parcel of over 200 plots for an estate in Isheri North, Ogun State, but on the ground that his company would be paid five percent of whatever the land owner would charge GText Homes.
According to the source, when the land owner informed Image Me Corporate Service of his desire to sell his land, the company contacted Stephen Akintayo, one of its clients, to ask him if he would like to buy the land.
“He told me he was interested in buying the land but was out of the country at the time. He then sent me his lawyer’s number, whom I took alongside staffers of GText Homes to inspect the land,” he told FIJ.
“After the inspection and research had taken place, Peter Ubuwere, the seller, and the GText Homes team reached a N1.5 billion agreement and agreed that the payment would be made in installments. This then meant that our consultancy, administration and agency commission was N75 million.”
He said that he wrote to GText Homes about the payment before the seller and the team reached a conclusion but the team wanted to negotiate its way out of the amount. He then told them to either pay or end the deal, and they chose the latter.
“When they agreed with the seller on his terms and conditions, they then went ahead and signed the agreement. It’s been over a year now that we’ve been sending reminders, but they haven’t sent our money. It came to a point where they began to deny the deal,” he said.

“The company is still selling from the estate. We have written several letters demanding our consultation, administration, and agency commission fee, but Stephen Akintayo told us he would not pay because he is a mogul.
“He said we should report him to any level or authority as he would not pay a dime. He said this was how he ran his business. When we engaged a private investigator, they concluded that Stephen Akintayo had been doing this all his life.”
FIJ placed several calls to GText Homes on Thursday via the two phone numbers on their website, but no one answered the calls. FIJ also sent a text message to the two numbers but the company had not responded at press time.
