Sule Mathew, a former intern at PRNigeria and first-class graduate of Information and Media Studies from Bayero University Kano (BUK), has been killed by gunmen.
According to PRNigeria, Matthew was recently killed alongside other passengers in Ekwulobia, one of the largest cities in Anambra, while journeying to the southeastern state. The dead persons were deposited at Ekwulobia General Hospital.
Salis Manager, Mathew’s coursemate and fellow ex-intern at PRNigeria, revealed that his friend was a prospective corps member.

“Mathew was among the first set of students to intern at the PRNigeria, Kano, in 2019,” Salis was quoted to have said.
He also said Mathew lost his father in June 2021, a few months to his final examination.
Gambo Ibrahim, who had lived with him since their diploma days, said Mathew was on a six-month non-residential fellowship programme that trains and mentors young activists to push for democratic reforms.
Mathew’s sister simply as Jemila disclosed that he travelled with his boss alongside other passengers and the driver in a private vehicle.

“After waylaying them, the gunmen opened fire on them, killing all of them except the driver who escaped. So, when we couldn’t reach him and hear of the incident, we sent Sule’s picture to the mortuary to confirm if he was among those killed and we got feedback that he was identified among those killed,” Jemila was quoted to have said.
Mathew is a native of Ayangaba in Kogi State. According to PRNigeria, he was a co-founder of hostutors.com, a Nigeria social enterprise that focuses on making informal and vocational education accessible to and affordable for everyone by connecting all categories of learners with best-fit tutors.
