Mayowa Adesanya (not real name), a Nigerian based in the United Kingdom, has narrated how Osakwe Peace Breanna, Founder of Breanna Hairs, an online wig store, took her N128,000.
Mayowa told FIJ that she reached out to Breanna on January 22 through the store’s Instagram sales page, @breanna_worldofficial, to buy two wigs.
“Since I had previously ordered wigs from her and she typically delivered, I opted to use her again when I noticed that she was doing a discount promotion in January,” she said.
“That day, I approached her as usual and paid for two wigs: a full frontal glueless wig for N68,000 and a 12-inch fringe wig for N29,000.”
She further told FIJ that since she was in the UK, she also sent a shipping fee of N30,000, bringing her total payment to N128,000.

“I contacted her on January 29 to let her know that I hadn’t heard from DHL, the logistics company that was supposed to ship the wigs, and she replied that the hair wasn’t quite ready yet,” said Mayowa.
“I pleaded with her to make it available before February 5 because I wanted to use it for a photo shoot the day after.”
Mayowa explained that when she contacted Breanna once more on February 1, she received a response that the products had been forwarded to the logistics company.
She said that she requested for a tracking number but none was provided.
She reached out to the vendor again after three days but didn’t get a positive response.
“This time the story was about the situation in Nigeria and a promise to check the DHL office the following day,” she said.
“Since then, I’ve sent her a lot of texts, but she hardly replied. Even when she did, it was all excuses.
“She even forbade me from leaving comments on the Instagram page.
Mayowa claimed that each time she tried to contact the number displayed on the Instagram page, she received a message that the vendor would get back to her but she never did.

FIJ tried to verify this claim by texting the number on WhatsApp. A response stated that Breanna would get the message, but FIJ didn’t hear from her.
When this reporter dialed the number requesting to speak with Breanna, the corporate representative who responded stated that Breanna wasn’t available and that the products would be delivered.
