When Makuachukwu Chukwumam ordered her second batch of hair products from Mamusca_Enterprise, she had no idea she would only receive part of her order and would be blocked for complaining.

Chukwumam, a Lagos State-based development and learning advocate, told FIJ that on November 5, she paid N205,000 to Blessing Mamus, CEO of Mamusca_Enterprise, for hairs.

She stated that she had previously ordered the same products from her in October and Mamusca had delivered promptly.

“This was not the first time I would be ordering hair from Mamusca_Enterprise. The first time, which was a test drive, she delivered promptly and I was very happy I found a Nigerian vendor I could trust,” Chukwumam told FIJ.

“In November 2022, I ordered five different hairs worth N203,000 from her. It was for my December sales. I wanted to start my hair business but also avoid the stress of ordering from China. What reinforced my trust in patronising her was that Nigerian hair vendors I trust posted her videos and made constant reference to her.”

The hair enthusiast stated that after she made her order and paid for them, Mamusca_Enterprise failed to deliver promptly.

“After the order, I waited for about three weeks without receiving the order. When I complained, she insulted me and referred me to a post she had made on Instagram,” she said.

“In that post, she said everyone would get their order that weekend, and I was calm.”

Chukwumam further said her order didn’t arrive that weekend.

“My order didn’t arrive the weekend she promised and when I called her on Sunday evening, all she said was ‘Am I the first?'” She said.

“It was at this point that I lost my cool and kept insisting that she deliver my hair. Subsequently, she would give me new delivery dates but fail.

“Surprisingly, I returned from work on December 12 to see that she had sent a dispatch rider who came to deliver two out of the five hairs I ordered. Meanwhile, she had blocked me on December 4.”

She stated that Mamusca’s delivery was close to nothing she ordered and that when she reached out to complain, she was barred.

“The hair she sent was very different from my order, as there was no similarity between them. I reached out to her again but she didn’t reply,” she said.

“I called but there was no response. I dropped a comment on her IG page and I was blocked instantly. Every attempt to get back my remaining hairs or money has been futile as she has been evading me.

“Now, the people I bought the hair for have got from some other sellers. Mamusca_Enterprise should just refund my money.”

When FIJ contacted Mamusca_Enterprise via their complaint line on WhatsApp, the handler denied knowledge of the customer and insisted the she reach out via their official complaint lines.

“We do not know who Makuachukwu is, and tell him or her to use the complain line,” the response read.

“If you have an issue, go through the right channel. We have rules that follow this brand and each customer is expected to follow them before making any payment to us. We send them our rules so we don’t have any form of argument.”
