Toyin Bamidele, a female student of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, was found dead in her apartment outside the school.
According to reports, Bamidele, who was a Higher National Diploma (HND) student of food technology, was hacked to death by unknown persons in her rented apartment on Thursday.
Confirming the incident on Friday, Folake Oyinloye, the acting head of the school’s public relations unit, said the management had launched an investigation in conjunction with security agencies.

The management also urged anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
“The management somberly condoles with her family, friends, and the Department of Food Technology for the great loss and urges anyone who has useful information on this occurrence to report to Security Agents,” Folake said.
Bamidele’s death came two weeks after Adaeze, a 200-level accounting student of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), was found dead in her off-campus apartment.
The lifeless body of Adaeze was found in her apartment in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, on November 3.
The management of UNIPORT revealed that a bottle containing an undisclosed substance was found beside the female student.
“The police were there with us also. We acknowledge the fact that she had taken a substance and passed out because there was a bottle of a substance that was found by her side,” the school said.
Also, on October 22, Yosi Yusuf, a female student of Gombe State College of Education, died from a stab wound in her off-campus residence at Zazzagawa Quarters in Billiri.

According to local reports, Yusuf was stabbed with a kitchen knife, which led to her death in the early hours of that Sunday.
“A kitchen knife was found in her room and there was injury on her body, which is believed to have led to her death,” Mua’azu Abubakar, the spokesperson of the Gombe police, revealed.
