Some Lagos policemen could be seen cluelessly standing and watching passengers groan under an overladen truck in Ojuelegba, Surulere, Lagos, on Sunday.
While residents and passersby who converged on the scene were screaming for help, the police officers were aimlessly looking at them.
“It crushed everybody,” said one resident.
“The person at the back of the crushed vehicle is still breathing,” another sympathiser said.
“Please, have mercy on us,” a woman screamed.
At the moment, recue efforts are being made by the officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
