Azman Air, a Nigerian airline, has made a refund of N130,000 to Ibrahim Bello, an Abuja-based deputy manager, whose flights were cancelled by the airline a day after booking.
Bello confirmed the refund to FIJ on Tuesday afternoon, nearly six weeks after FIJ’s story on his experience was published.
“Good afternoon, I just received the refund from Azman Air,” he said. “Thank you, team FIJ.”

On September 6, FIJ reported how Azman Air withheld Bello’s refund for eight months after his flights were cancelled.
Bello told FIJ he had booked the round trip on January 24 for a trip to Maiduguri and back but his tickets were cancelled a day after purchasing them.
He stated that the airline had informed him of the cancellation via text message and sighted operational reasons as the cause.
“After cancelling, they told me to reschedule to Febraury 1, the next time they would be flying to my destination, but I didn’t take the option because it would have affected my schedule. I instead asked them for a refund,” he said.
“I filed the refund form and submitted it to them but nearly nine months after my trip was cancelled and I requested for a refund, I did not hear from the airline.”
However, after FIJ’s story, he got back his money.
